My academic research focused on the development of Intelligent Building Systems, Adaptive Facades, human/occupant interfacing, and relevant project delivery strategies. It was the intent of this research to establish that the marriage of these systems will make new and existing buildings more energy efficient, and provide a greater degree of physiological and psychological comfort for occupants. The benefits of which will be experienced by each stakeholder (owner, contractor, architect, developer, building engineer/operator, occupant, utility companies).
These systems are comprised of existing technologies, such as Artificial Neural Networks, Agent Based Component Systems, low-cost/high-power microcontrollers, mobile devices, and software tools already in wide use by the architectural industry.
